Past Council Chairs for Missouri from this District

The Council Chair is the top title in Missouri's Council of Governors. The Council Chair is elected by each incoming class of Governors, from the preceding Council. The Council Chair is a mentor, someone who is to help the new class understand more about the last Council's decisions and difficulties, in order to help the new class work more smoothly. The are in charge of the agenda for council meetings and are the "face" of the Council of Governors of Missouri. They have many responsibilities, so each must be trustworthy and amiable.

PCC John Anderson, 2000-2001

Past Council Chairperson, Lion John Anderson, joined the Hamilton Lions Club in 1990.  An interesting fact about Lion John is that he attended an International Convention before ever attending a Lions Club meeting.  His father-in-law, PDG Scoot McCrary, had been asking him for 20 years to join the Hamilton Lions Club.  When John decided to join, Scoot filled out the paperwork that day.  Lions John and Ann headed out the next day to the International Convention in St. Louis to follow the Missouri Lions All State Band, as their daughter was a member of the band that year. As soon as he was a Lion he started talking to his brother, who lived at Lake Viking, about Lions and they put their heads together to start a club at Lake Viking. He also was instrumental in helping put together the District Basketball Classic.  He had met many friends throughout the state and they helped Lion John bring back important information to help in the forming of this district project. Lion John soon was asked to become a member of the Missouri Lions Athletic committee and Zone Chairperson.  He was District Governor in 1999-2000 and became Council Chairperson for the Lions year 2000-2001.  He has been active since day one of becoming a Lion and continues be active on the club, district, and state level along with his partner in service, Past District Governor, Lion Ann.
